Try out the fastest growing sport around!  Similar to ping pong, badminton, and tennis, it’s a fun, active game that can be mastered by anyone, from youth to senior citizens. This program is for adults, ages 18 and older. Pickleball was created during the summer of 1965 and is currently the fastest growing sport in the United States. It is played on a badminton court with the net lowered to 34 inches, and uses a perforated plastic ball (similar to a whiffle ball) and wood or composite paddles.  Paddles will be provided only for the Beginner session on Mondays at Birch Meadow.  Players have to provide their own paddle for all other sessions.

***Due to popularity of this program, registration for the March sessions will begin on Wednesday, February 13th at 8:00AM for Reading Residents ONLY on a first-come, first-serve basis.  Non-Residents will be able to register on Thursday, February 14th at 8:00AM, if space is still available.***  Please note that the sessions to be held at the Birch Meadow Elementary School are 6 weeks and the sessions to be held at the Coolidge Middle School are 4 weeks due to gym availability.

***PLEASE READ BELOW FOR DESCRIPTIONS OF EACH SESSION LEVEL AND BE SURE TO REGISTER FOR THE CORRECT SESSION BASED ON YOUR EXPERIENCE AND/OR ABILITY.***
